Hereafter, when any dealer in precious metals in the county shall in good faith, or
otherwise, acquire by purchase, barter, trade or gift or otherwise, any article of
tangible precious metal which has been stolen from the owner thereof or some person
in lawful possession thereof, such dealer shall report to sheriff the fact that he
has such article and the information therewith.
