§ 15-3. Wild/exotic animals on bridges.

  • (a)

    Definitions.

    (1)

    "Livestock" is defined to refer to horses, mares, ponies, mules, jacks, jennies, colts, cows, calves, yearlings, bulls, oxen, sheep, goats, lambs, kids, hogs, shoats, pigs, or any other animal normally used or raised on a farm and not specifically named herein.

    (2)

    "Wild/exotic animals" means animals native to North America other than those animals generally recognized as being domesticated animals, as well as animals native to foreign lands, whether first generation imported or born here in captivity.

    (3)

    "Pet" means any domesticated animal (other than those that may be included in the definitions above) normally maintained in or near the household of the owner thereof.

    (b)

    Prohibited. The presence of all livestock and wild/exotic animals is hereby prohibited on bridges designed exclusively for pedestrian/cycling traffic. Any pet that is taken upon a bridge must be leashed.

    (c)

    Penalty. The general penalty associated with violations of county ordinance shall apply.
