§ 1-9. General penalty.

  • Whenever in this Code or in any ordinance of the county any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or a misdemeanor, or an offense or a violation, or whenever in this Code or in any ordinance of the county the doing of any act is required, and state law, this Code or such ordinance does not provide or require otherwise, any such violation of this Code or of such ordinance shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00), or double such sum for each repetition thereof. If the thing prohibited or rendered unlawful or a violation or a misdemeanor or the thing required is, in its nature, continuous in respect to time, the fine for allowing the continuance thereof, in violation of this Code or such ordinance shall be an amount not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for each day that the same is unlawfully continued.
