§ 2-163. Treasurer's petty cash fund.

  • (a)

    Pursuant to the agreement between the legislative joint auditing committee and the office of the county treasurer, and the county judge, the office of the county treasurer is hereby authorized to establish and maintain a cash fund in its office to be used primarily for the payment of county pay vouchers of county employees and to pay witness fees as required by law.

    (b)

    The cash fund shall contain not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) nor more than thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00), the larger amount being maintained only on county pay days and for a period of four (4) days thereafter.

    (c)

    The procedures to be followed by the office of the county treasurer in establishing this cash fund, cashing county pay vouchers, and in accounting for the funds, shall be established pursuant to the agreement between the legisla-tive joint auditing committee and the office of the county treasurer.
