§ 4-12. Indigent defense fee.

As authorized by Section 15(d) of Act 1193 of 1993, there is hereby levied a fee of five dollars ($5.00) to be taxed as costs in all civil cases filed, and upon a person upon conviction, plea of guilty, pleas of nolo contendere, or bond forfeiture, in felony, misdemeanor, traffic violation cases for violation of state laws or local ordinance, and violation of city ordinances, filed in any circuit, chancery, probate, municipal, city or police court within the county, effective July 1, 1993. However, no such fees shall be taxed as costs in any action filed in small claims court.
