§ 4-26. County to pay expenses.

The employees of the public defender and the public defender himself shall not be employees of the county. They are officers of the court, but the county shall pay salaries, expenses and any required FICA, retirement contributions and unemployment insurance contributions in recognition of the services performed for the administration of justice in the county.
