§ 5-1. Electronic voting system.

(a)

Use authorized. The county board of election commissioners is henceforth authorized to use in all county elections electronic voting systems authorized by, and as set forth in Arkansas Statutes section 3-1801 et seq.

(b)

Acquisition authorized. The county judge, or his director of county office of purchasing, for him, is hereby authorized to enter into and execute agreements of lease-purchase for electronic voting equipment, and related services as found by the county board of election commissioners to be required, necessary and suitable for use in elections in the county. The county board of election commissioners shall provide to the county judge and/or his director of the county office of purchasing specifications of the voting equipment and related services as it deems required, necessary and suitable to meet the needs for use of an electronic voting system in the county.
