§ 2-381. Membership of the board.

  • The board shall consist of five (5) members. The initial members shall be appointed by the county judge and confirmed by the quorum court for terms of one (1), two (2), three (3), four (4), and five (5) years, respectively. Each member shall serve until his successor is appointed and confirmed. Successor members shall be appointed by the county judge, subject to confirmation of the quorum court, for terms of five (5) years each. Each member shall qualify by taking and filing with the county clerk his/her oath of office in which he/she shall swear to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Arkansas and to discharge faithfully his/her duties in the manner provided by law. Each member shall be eligible to serve no more than two complete terms. In the event of a vacancy in the membership of the board, a successor shall be provided as established in A.C.A. § 14-137-108.
