§ 8-17. Definitions.

For the purposes of this article, the following definitions will apply:

(a)

County refers to the local government of Pulaski County, Arkansas.

(b)

Department refers to the Pulaski County sanitation department.

(c)

Household includes single family residential units, duplexes, and apartments or mobile home trailer parks consisting of no more than four (4) separate dwelling units. The term "household" shall not include apartments with more than four (4) dwelling units nor shall it include mobile home trailer parks consisting of more than four (4) units.

(d)

Solid waste refers to putrescible and nonputrescible refuse that results from normal household activities. For the purpose of this article, "solid waste" shall not include:

(1)

Animal manure or dead animals.

(2)

Tree stumps, dirt, stone rocks, bricks or other building materials.

(3)

Acids, caustics, explosives or infectious material.

(4)

Household appliances (stoves, refrigerators, freezers and like items) or furniture.

(5)

Tires or metal automobile parts.

(6)

Similar items which may cause damage to department equipment.
